App Guide

Jarbik is the app that makes it easy for you to support the candidates and groups you love. It also allows you to connect with people who share your views and earn Action Points (AP) and Badges for your accomplishments! The app is compatible with iPhones, iPads, Android phones and Android tablets.

After logging in by Facebook, email or phone you will be asked to fill out a personal profile, then you will be able to navigate to the Newsfeed, Action Screen, Dashboard, Leaderboard and Events screens.

The Action Screen provides you with opportunities to earn points and make a difference for your campaign.

You can post to the Newsfeed by tapping the “comment” icon in the upper-right corner, which also allows you to filter the Newsfeed by just your comment threads.

The Dashboard screen gives you access to your Profile, Notifications, Preferences and other handy tools. My Achievements shows your Action Points and Badges and My Friends allows you to connect and send messages to fellow activists.

The Leaderboard shows the top supporters in your Group or State, or you can see Everyone.

You can search on the Newsfeed and Info/Events screen by dragging down the screen.

You can refresh and screen by tapping and dragging it down.

Our Top Three Most Frequent Questions

Q. I’m having trouble logging in to the app!

A. The easiest way to log in to the app is by clicking the “f” icon on the login screen and using your Facebook account to login:

You can also login by entering your email address or phone number and waiting for us to send you a 5-digit code. Once you receive your code, enter it into the app:

If you do not receive a code, check that your phone number or email address is correct, and check your email spam folder. During high volume it can take up to 5 minutes for the code to arrive in your email or via text message. You can also try using a different login method. You can only request a code three times per day with the same email or phone.

Q. I’ve found a bug in the app or don’t understand how to use a feature, what do I do?

A. Please let us know at! We will either walk you through using the feature or fix the bug and let you know when the fix is live.

Q. Why does the app ask permission to do X, Y and Z?

A. The app asks permission to send Push Notifications to keep you in the loop about breaking news or opportunities to earn Action Points, Address Book access so you (and only you) can send messages to your friends, Location/GPS only when you are using the app and want to get directions to an event or check-in at a location, Camera/Album access so you (and only you) can upload a selfie or other images to the app Newsfeed. We respect your privacy and deleting your account removes all of your personal data from our system.

Other Common Questions

Q. I have multiple accounts/I show up multiple times in the app!

A. This happens when you have used multiple login methods (i.e. you logged in with Facebook, then separately logged in with an email address). Please send us a screenshot of your profile page and how your other username(s) appear in the app and we will address.

Q. I’m locked out of my account

A. Try the solutions above to “I’m having trouble logging in to the app”. If the problem persists, please contact us and include screenshots (if possible) of the error you are seeing.

Q. What does AP stand for?

A. Great question. AP = Action Points, our unique scoring unit for measuring your progress and recognizing your accomplishments!

Q. How do points work?

A. The app awards Action Points for successful actions. Many actions can only be accomplished for points one time, or only a certain number of times per day. It is up to individual campaigns to decide how many points an action is worth and how often it can be accomplished for points.

Q. Why am I receiving an error message “Activity limit reached”, “wait for the app to cool down” etc.?

A. Sometimes the app will impose limits on how many times per day or how many times in rapid succession you can perform an activity for points. Wait and try again later.

Q. Why don’t I see anyone to invite or survey?

A. You may need to click “Refresh my contacts” under Preferences and allow the app to search your phone for matched contacts. It may take the app several days to find matched contacts so check back from time to time.

Q. Why don’t I see any locations to check in?

A. Sometimes it can take the GPS some time to verify your location. Let the app process for a little bit before trying to refresh the screen/list to see if it has completed the reset.

Q. A friend I invited accepted my invite, why have I not received credit?

A. They must enter your personal invite code in the “Confirm Invitation” action. Only one invite can be confirmed per user you successfully invite, but there is no limit to how many friends you can invite for credit!

Q. On my iPhone, why do I see a blank screen when I try to invite my friends?

A. You can re-enable your address book under your iPhone Settings > Privacy > Contacts

Q. On my iPhone, why do I get an error message when I try to email my friends?

A. Exit the app and open your iPhone’s settings app, then click on “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” and enable the “Mail” option in one of your email accounts on file.

Q. Why can’t I access my Facebook friends via the app?

A. Facebook no longer allows apps like ours to see your Facebook contacts. You can post an invitation to your Facebook wall or copy the invite code and send it to your friends via your phone’s web browser, Facebook Messenger or the Facebook app.
